A FUND-RAISING event at the Turnpike Pub in Cledford has been hailed as a resounding success.

The event was held in aid of Robert Moulton of Moss Drive who was yesterday, Tuesday, given a clean bill of health, just four weeks after having a tumour removed from his brain.

It was feared that the tumour may have been cancerous but biopsies on the tissue revealed that it was benign.

Speaking yesterday Robert's mum, Jacqui said: "We've had great news.

"The doctors said that Robert could be prone to more tumours but we can cope with that."

Speaking of the fund-raising event Dennis Connolly, landlord of the Turnpike said: "We've done really, really well, I think we raised about £150.

"We had karaoke and a disco in the afternoon, it went down really well.

"We had about 40 kids and 20 adults here, but that's the people of Middlewich for you, they really come together to help."

Jacqui added: "We had an excellent day on Monday and raised quite a lot of money.

"We are going take Robert on holiday in June and we're going to put the money raised towards that.

"We all need a rest."
