WARRINGTON'S racing drivers were out in force at Oulton Park's Good Friday meeting.
Four of the town's racers took part in the Ford Escort XR Challenge which was won by Warrington's Andrew Lennie.
Lennie had qualified on the front row of the grid alongside Great Sankey's Mark Scott who had secured his first pole position.
From the start, Lennie quickly took the lead with Scott dropping back to third place as the race progressed.
Further down the field, amid several incidents in an action-packed 12-lap event, there were good performances from Ricky Roundell and Barry Noble. Both drivers made up several positions to finish in fifth and seventh places out of the 20 starters.
Three Warrington drivers competed in the Ford Fiesta XR Challenge. Paul McMahon of Great Sankey took seventh place on the 17-car grid with Jim Little and Tony McKean starting alongside each other in 13th and 14th positions.
The Fiestas produced their familiar close racing and with frequent contact disrupting the pack, McMahon dropped to 12th with Little improving to 11th and McKean remaining in 14th place at the end of the 12-lap race.
