THE junior crown green bowls season gets underway on Sunday at the Orford Park.
The opening events include free coaching lessons for boys and girls aged eight and upwards and a practice session for the junior members of the Warrington Borough Crown Green Bowls team.
Green hire and use of light weight bowls equipment will be provided free of charge to the juniors that attend. The sessions will start at 11am and will finish at approximately 12.30pm.
The practice session is open to all members of the Warrington Youth and Junior Crown Green Bowls Club and it will be used as a trial for the selection of the junior team that will represent Warrington in the county match against Central Derbyshire on Sunday, May 20. Players wanting to be considered for the team are requested to report at Orford Park at 10.30am.
Players and their families are also reminded that the first match in the PDS Family Bowls League (mixed junior and adult pairs matches) will take place on Thursday, May 3, at Orford park, 7pm start with the first match in the MD International Junior Bowls League taking place on Saturday, May 5, 11am start. Any potential new members interested in playing in the above leagues, young or old, male or female, are invited to contact Tony on 496089 or Ron 724429.
