OUR points from wins over the Easter period were well deserved after a lot of hard work the players had put in.

We could not have asked for better than four points with the first win of the league season over Leeds turning our fortunes around.

I didn't play in the Leeds game on the day after my brother's funeral. I watched it at home on television with my family. It was a good performance by the boys.

I returned for the game at Halifax on Monday. The players helped me through it and focused me on the game.

Backing up in the way that we did at Halifax after the Leeds game showed good character in the team.

Players need confidence to play well and hopefully now it is going to be sky-high in the camp because the game against St. Helens on Friday is going to be difficult. The changing rooms are certainly buzzing and the team spirit has not been lost throughout our ups and downs so far this season.

Although Saints are my former club I don't really have an extra lift going into games against them. I try to prepare the same for every game and I don't think I have anything to prove playing against Saints although we would love to put one over them - they are the best in the business and the team to beat at the moment.

Saints are professional in their approach and I can't see them coming to Wilderspool with their minds on the Challenge Cup final next weekend instead of our game. I hope I am wrong but I can't see it.

Buzzer (Dean Busby) will be playing against his former club and he has probably been the best player Warrington have had so far this year.

He has stayed away from injury and his confidence has grown. When he was a young kid at Hull he played well but he is probably playing the best football of his career at the moment. He's breaking defences and putting some big shots in too in defence.

I have always stated that wherever I play I am happy but it is nice to be back at stand off playing alongside Alf and linking up with the backs out wide, where Ian Sibbit is doing well. Sibb and I are level in the try scoring stakes and we have a little bet going between us to see who can finish top.

I understand there has been speculation this week about Swansea showing interest in me.

It's always nice to hear people want you. Rugby Union is always a possibility and I would love to play in Wales. I have played Rugby League there for Wales and the passion for the game is immense. In Rugby Union, playing for Wales in the Millennium Stadium in front of 70,000 fans is the best you're going to get. I would love to give the game a try but not at this time, maybe one day.

All I am focused on at the moment is St. Helens on Friday. It is all systems go to see if we can turn Saints over.
