Chorlton Town...1
KNUTSFORD travelled to Brantingham Road on Saturday and on a rainy day dealt convincingly with Chorlton.
Player-manager Stewart Dow led by example and was only denied his hat trick when his fiercely-headed shot was ruled offside.
Paul Fry, captain for the day, opened the scoring on 12 minutes when he burst clear of Chorlton's intended offside trap and finished from 18 yards.
As the rain grew heavier and conditions deteriorated there looked little chance of further goals as Knutsford squandered several opportunities.
Then on 65 minutes they carelessly lost possession on the edge of the box and from Kelsall's cross Danny Abela equalised with a header.
Within two minutes Dow had restored Knutsford's advantage with a clinical finish and then he added a third goal for the visitors on 70 minutes.
In the final minute Craig Stevens was on hand to score his first goal of the season and give the final score a convincing look.
TEAM: Johnson, Bell, Alan Brown, I Habershon, Leigh, Stevens, Burnett (J Habershon 65 minutes), Fry, Masheder, Dow, P Hartley. Subs not used N Hartley, Hargreaves.
