CONGLETON RUFC excelled in a comprehensive 34-0 victory over Kidsgrove-based Linley, on Saturday.
Flanker Tony Dempsey lost no time in starting the ball rolling with an unconverted try which was then repeated by scrum-half Richard Burkard for a 10-0 interval lead.
Within four minutes of the restart Matt Hunter took a great opportunity to add another try as Congleton dominated in all areas.
In the last 10 minutes flanker Gary Sargeant burst through the weary and overpowered Linley defence for a further try that was finally converted by Richard Burkard.
Congleton were really motoring now as they looked to rack up the points. Hunter grabbed two more to complete his hat-trick with Winship converting one to add to the rout.
Congleton meet Douglas (Isle Of Man) this weekend.
