WAR veterans are resurrecting their Book of Remembrance.
The local Burma Star Association's tribute to former members is going back on public view, in Crewe's Municipal Buildings instead of its original home in St Peter's Church, Earle Street.
A new display case has been made for the book which honours soldiers, sailors and airmen killed in action during the World War Two campaign and ex-servicemen who have died since.
Chaplain to the local branch of the Association, the Rev Gordon Geddes, will officiate at a dedication ceremony on May 8.
"We are planning to turn a page every so often so that all of the names can be seen in turn. The book has not been on view for some time. It has now been brought up to date and we are delighted that it will be back in the public domain in a location that puts it at the centre of local life and history," said Association secretary, Mrs Doreen Heeson.
She has taken over the role held by her husband, James. He died twelve years ago when he was branch secretary and his name is amongst the more recent entries in the book.
