A MAJOR photographic survey is being compiled to record the area of South East Cheshire.
The photographic Domesday project is being housed at Keele University in Stoke and aims to record the region's architectural and cultural heritage.
Including Crewe, Nantwich and Sandbach, the survey has already amassed over 2,000 slides, but it is hoped the collection will grow to 50,000.
Town halls, libraries, hospitals, churches, schools, shopping centres, parks, railways, canals and developments are among the list of buildings being sought.
It is estimated the survey, being undertaken by conservation consultants The Heritage Associates, might take 10 years to complete.
David Martin, from the Heritage Associates said: "We are preparing a list of buildings to be photographed and to make sure the survey is as comprehensive as possible we invite individuals, residents' associations, clubs, companies and historians to tell us which buildings should be included."
The Heritage Associates is based in Alsager and David Martin can be contacted on 875656.
