CREWE'S own VCO Big Band is ready for business and wants people to know it!
With a new look and big plans, organisers are hoping for a busy summer.
But they're worried that the band's availability is far too much of a secret.
"We're playing fortnightly at our rehearsal venue at the Crosville Club when we're ready and willing to be performing for the enjoyment of a live audience," said VCO spokesperson Glenys Huntington.
As well as providing top class entertainment for two decades, the band has helped charities to raise thousands of pounds, since musical director Geoff Seals, first founded the band in 1982.
"We're hoping that enterprising individuals, as well as big band enthusiasts will see the potential of bringing the band to perform in their area.
"The musicians are used to producing their big band sound in a wide variety of venues, ranging from theatres and clubs to village and civic halls," added Glenys.
"A programme will always include classics such as Glenn Miller and Duke Ellington numbers, as well as more modern favourites and lovely ballads.
If you would like more information on hiring the band, call Geoff on 01623 407173 or Susan on 01270 768745 or visit VCO's new website at www.webnectar.com/vcobigband/
