PREMIER division new boys Crewe Cricket Club failed to defy the odds against Pipemaster league champs Audley on Saturday.
Batting first at home, Audley made steady progress to declare on 175 for 9 with Doorbar hitting a solid 41 backed up by Joynson's fine 32.
New signing Nolan McKensie did the damage with the ball taking 6-67 while young prospect Nick Lange picked up 3-49.
Crewe were never in the chase and were skittled for 65.
Audley take 25 points, Crewe 4.
RELEGATED Elworth picked up their first win of the Division One campaign thanks to former Stone pro Dave Palin.
His excellent innings of 59 formed the basis for a winning total of 150-6 off 55 overs with support from Dave Buckley (36) and Rob Beech (29no).
In reply, Barlaston could never keep up with the run rate and the accurate off-spin of Jim Higgins picked up 6-45 with his final wicket sealing a dramatic victory off the final ball.
Palin chipped in with 3 for 21.
Elworth took 25 points, Barlaston 4.
WITH the start of the North Staffs & District League delayed due to the Foot and Mouth crisis, Weston CC kicked off their season with victory in a friendly against Sandyford.
Paul Tibbetts (35) and Paul Lomas (26) were heroes at the crease, helping Weston to a total of 111 all out off 40 overs.
Sandyford struggled in reply and were bowled out for 85 with Paul Lomas starring, taking 4-17.
