A YOUTHFUL Crewe FC side crashed 1-0 at home to high-flying Cheadle, last Saturday.
Again, manager Ian O'Reilly made changes to the line-up with safety relatively secure and wasn't too disappointed with the result.
The game was evenly matched throughout the 90 minutes with chances few and far between.
Cheadle took one as their forward bundled centre-half Michael Owen off the ball and tucked it away after 70 minutes.
"We threw in some new faces which is pleasing at this stage of the season and they did okay," said O'Reilly. "Daniel Hawthorn did well in his debut at the back.
"Michael's played well for us this season and he was only doing what we've told him, trying to play it from the back. It was a mistake and he'll learn from it.
"I was disappointed we didn't create any quality chances but they are a top four side and we didn't look that far from them."
Crewe FC met Trafford in mid-week and entertain Knutsford at the Cumberland Sports Ground, this Saturday, with striker John Griffiths set to return, KO 3pm.
