Vodafone want to disguise the eight aerials and a cabinet on the roof of the Conservative Club in Canute Square.
If their plans are approved, the mobile phone mast - which was erected in the club's car park without permission - will be removed.
This week a spokesman for Macclesfield Borough Council said its officers were still investigating the mast and were treating it as a separate matter to the new plans.
But yesterday (Tuesday) Fred McDowell, who lives opposite the club in Gaskell Avenue, said the mast had ruined the landscape around The Heath.
"I will be glad to see the back of it," he said.
"It is a listed building right in the middle of town and I don't know why they don't go and stick the mast in Toft Wood."
Vodafone said in their application that the antennae were needed to improve reception in the town centre.
It is believed landowner Randle Brooks will receive £10,000 a year for renting out the space to the phone giants.
"Nobody seems to care about the residents of Knutsford in this," said Mr McDowell.
Councillors will discuss the plans - which are on view at the tourist information centre - on May 23.
