OUT to rent on April 30 is the backwardly brilliant Memento.
Starring Guy Pearce (LA Confidential) and Carrie-Ann Moss (The Matrix) it follows in the footsteps of The Usual Suspects.
Leonard Shelby (Pearce) is an ex-insurance agent who fails to prevent the rape and murder of his wife and in trying suffers a head injury which wipes out his short-term memory.
Relying on photographs, scrappy notes and the help of friends Natalie (Moss) and Teddy (Joe Pantoliano), Shelby tries to track down the murderers.
This film proves the skills of British director Christopher Nolan and should propel him to success.
Superb performances from Pearce and Moss capture the atmosphere and make Memento a must-see thriller.
On the Guardian scale Mementon would rank 9/10.
