THE funeral service and committal were held at Altrincham Crematorium on Monday April 9 for Mrs Elsie McMillan, of Knutsford, who died on April 1. She was 80.
Mrs McMillan (nee Blake) was born in Bucklow Hill, Knutsford.
She was the eldest of three children, brought up in the Knutsford area, living with her parents Noah and Mary Blake.
She attended Rostherne School.
Mrs McMillan had a variety of jobs, working in service, a shop assistant and a telephonist.
It was while working as a telephonist with the WRAF during the war that she met her husband.
They married in Rostherne Parish Church in 1945 and moved to Dundee, Scotland.
Mrs McMillan was one of the first residents to move into Elizabeth Gaskell Court.
Her hobbies included tapestry, knitting and making chocolate cakes.
Mrs McMillan is survived by one daughter, two sons, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The Rev Paul Wilson conducted the service.
In addition to flowers, donations were received for the British Heart Foundation.
