ALSAGER'S recent run of good form came to an abrupt halt with two defeats in the space of three days.
They lost 3-1 at Bootle on Thursday night, and went down 2-0 at home to Squires Gate on Saturday.
However they got back to winning ways on Tuesday night with a 2-1 victory at local rivals Stone Dominoes.
Gareth Rowe scored both goals from the penalty spot, after being brought down by the keeper on 39 and 43 minutes.
Stone pulled one back with 10 minutes to go.
Alsager started well on Saturday, winning three corners in the first 10 minutes.
However it was Squires Gate who had the first real chance when a mistake in the Alsager defence on 15 minutes let in Sugden.
Alsager keeper Rob Powner saved the day, producing an excellent stop to keep the scores level.
Sugden again went close five minutes later with a header at the far post well cut out by Steve Grocott.
Gareth Rowe won a series of headers in the visitors' box, which no-one was able to capitalise on, and hit a dipping shot just wide.
Alsager lost their way in the second half, and the visitors took the lead on 58 minutes, although Alsager claimed Sugden handled the ball before he scored.
Squires Gate doubled the lead five minutes later when Longworth picked up a poor clearance out of defence to fire home from 15 yards.
Bootle led 2-0 at half-time, and Rowe pulled one back before the home side sealed victory with a third.
* Alsager are at home to Chadderton tomorrow.
