WORK started this week on giving a community woodland in Winwick a spring clean.
Radley Common is undergoing £13,000 of face-lift works, which are expected to continue until the end of May.
The parish council has commissioned the works, which are being carried out by the Mersey Valley Partnership.
Funding for the project has been met by grant aid from landfill tax grants, the Mersey Forest group and the parish council.
The work includes the creation of a wild flower meadow, which has been called Parr Meadow in memory of John Parr, the parish councillor who died last year and served the village for more than 40 years.
Other additions include a culvert, a kissing gate and a new fencing.
