STAFF at Bargain Booze in Penketh were confronted by two masked robbers wielding a baseball bat and an axe in a terrifying raid on Sunday night.
The robbers burst into the shop wearing sleeves from a light fawn jumper with eye holes over their faces and threatened the two female shop assistants and a male customer at 10.15pm.
One of the men snatched a small amount of cash after demanding that staff open the till, then the pair ran out around the back of the shop.
The workers and the customer were shaken after the raid but didn't sustain any injuries.
The men are both of slim build, were wearing dark clothing and spoke with Liverpool accents. One was around 5ft 8in and the other was 6ft tall.
Anyone with information on the robbery can contact Det Sgt Pete Cash or Det Con Kate Connelly on 01244 613833.
