Warrington Wolves...12 St Helens...36
LEADING 12-6 after 15 minutes Warrington Academy team failed to add to their score and fell to another disappointing defeat.
Although Saints took an early lead with a converted try on seven minutes, Warrington hit back in fine style when prop Paul Alcock scored on 14 minutes and with Jimmy Williams' conversion the scores were level.
From the re-start Steve Maden collected the ball on his own 20-metre line and broke through the advancing Saints defence to race away for a spectacular individual try. Williams converted and Warrington looked in command.
From then on Saints ran in six tries and Warrington could not claw their way back, although it was not for lack of trying.
