ST. ALBANS Bank Quay gained the victory required to confirm their first division Warrington Soccer League title and a return to the Premier level for next term.

Their latest win, a 3-0 romp against Grappenhall Sports, settled the second silverware of the season in fine style.

Sidac Social, who were crowned Guardian Cup winners last week, improved their chances of retaining their Premier title with two victories. Mitchell, Pilling and a Raynor brace gave Sidac full points in their match with Halton Borough.

The destiny of the Organics Intermediates Premier Division looks set to go to the wire as Sidac have claimed maximum points over the course of the past month.

Wood Albion progressed to the final of the Depot Cup on Saturday after withstanding a terrific fight back by Pavilion Rangers to run out 4-3 winners.

Safeway will contest the final with them after winning 3-2 in their semi against Leigh Athletic.

Premier sides Crosfields and St Michaels progressed to the second round of the Drinkwater Trophy with victories against Vulcan and Lockers respectively. Saunders, Eastup, Sauce, Pickett and Turner found the target for the Soapmen in a close game at Newton.

St. Michaels found their Division Two opponents Lockers less problematic, finding the net seven times, with Darbyshire replying for the visitors.

Crosfields Reserves suffered a tough week, throwing away a two-goal lead at Halton Borough to lose 5-3. Hall, two and Dinnie had scored for Crosfields. Withers hit four for the hosts. On Saturday, Cowell hit four late goals as Eagle ran away with the points with six goals without reply, after the scoreline was blank for 65 minutes.

Sasib Reserves, with goals by Hilam, Johnston and Partington, beat Whiston Thirds.
