RED LION took Warrington Sunday Soccer League's Red Lion Cup by defeating Grappenhall Sports after a penalty shoot-out.

Stan Platt gave Red Lion the lead when he scored from close range off a corner. Shortly before half-time, from a free-kick, Lee Smith's header levelled the scores.

It needed a 7-6 penalty count before Red Lion picked up the cup. Grappenhall Sports' John Webb was named man of the match.
