THE players have really turned it round for Warrington Wolves after a difficult start to the Super League season.

I think the Halifax win away was our best win. The old Warrington side going into the last 10 minutes of the game would have given in. That night we all stuck together, put our hands up to be counted and came away with a great win. That was probably the best win I have experienced at this club.

The Halifax win then strengthened us for the game against St. Helens last Friday at Wilderspool where the atmosphere was great. The fans have been really good. They stuck behind us during all the hard stuff that went on at the start of the season. Now there are two drummers in the crowd and it is great, it really gets the players going.

Warrington's supporters are the best crowd in this competition by a mile. They sing for the whole 80 minutes and I've never experienced anything like it in my life. In the Wigan game away last year the fans sang 'Van de Velde's barmy army' for 80 minutes and it was awesome. From then it has gone from strength to strength.

We have no match this weekend due to the Challenge Cup final at Twickenham and the players have been given the weekend off so I'm going away with my family. I'll probably watch the Challenge Cup final on television somewhere, but I'd rather be there playing than watching.

It should be a close game but I am edging towards Saints because they are a great side when it comes to the big games and they have proven that over the last five months.

But their opponents Bradford, who we play next Wednesday, can not be written off as they are a good side too. It is going to be a great game.

As far as Saints are concerned, I don't think much should be read into their result against us on Friday. On that night, after Paul Newlove was sent off and we put them under pressure, they showed they had other things on their minds.

When we play Bradford on Wednesday at Valley Parade we're not going to take the Twickenham factor into the game. We will play the best we can and that is all we need to worry about week in, week out and at the end of the year if we reach the top five, which is our goal, then it will be a bonus.

But of course we want to keep our winning run going at Bradford and we have had a week of a lot of hard training in preparation. There has been no let-up and the running session we had at Lymm Dam on Tuesday morning was really tough. It was great though, everyone stuck together and helped each other through it. After the weekend off to freshen up we will be straight back into it on Monday and ready for the huge forward battle with the Bulls.
