IT is no wonder St. Helens are interested in securing Warrington centre Toa Kohe-Love's services for next season.
The world champions have said that they would be interested in looking at the New Zealander if their own New Zealand centre Kevin Iro does not re-sign for next season.
But, with his contract due to run out at the end of this campaign, the 24-year-old's hat-trick performance and reaction when scoring each of them indicated strongly that his mind is 100 per cent on playing well for the Wolves.
Kohe-Love said: "There's nothing in the rumours. I'm here to play for Warrington for the rest of this season and then at the end of that I'll make a decision as to what to do next."
Kohe-Love was not underestimating the performance from his side.
He said: "Everyone's clicked in the last couple of weeks and we're on a winning streak. Beating the world champions is a huge achievement.
"But we knew we were capable of it before we went out there.
"I don't know whether they had their mind on the cup final but nevertheless we still stuck it to them.
"We played a lot more open rugby but that was our plan from the start. We know that is how Saints usually play and decided to play them at their own game by throwing it about a bit and upsetting their rhythm.
"It's definitely a sign that we are a top five team and we have proven it by the teams we have beaten in our last three games."
Kohe-Love's hat-trick took his try tally for the season to six but he still languishes as fifth top scorer behind Lee Briers, Ian Sibbit, Rob Smyth and Alan Hunte, although having missed four games.
He was delighted to be moving up the scoring chart: "I'm getting up their slowly but surely. Every try I score Sib also seems to get one. He's been a bit lucky but he's a big strong centre and he's going to do well all year.
"But I don't mind if he scores and I don't as long as we win," said Kohe-Love.
Darryl Van de Velde had this to say for his star centre: "Toa is a class act and a gifted athlete. He's got great feet and does things that you can't coach."
