SCHOOLCHILDREN have called for fines for people who drop litter in the street.
The idea emerged from the 26 primary school pupils who took part in a recycling and litter conference.
The event was organised by Congleton in Bloom and the borough council, and was held at Congleton Town Hall.
The schools taking part included Woodcocks' Well, Smallwood, Rode Heath and Brereton, and featured a two-hour programme of talks and activities.
Margaret Williamson from Congleton in Bloom asked for help from the schools' recycling officers in highlighting the damage that litter, graffiti and vandalism can do.
The children suggested a wall could be set aside for the graffiti 'artists'.
