ADVENTUROUS teenagers Jenny Miller and Meera Chauhan will take on the challenge of a lifetime this summer when they jet off to Africa.
The 16-year-olds are due to work with street children in the Kenyan capital Nairobi as part of their bid for a gold Duke of Edinburgh award.
They will also help to build a medical centre, and are seeking sponsorship support to fund the £1,500 cost of the five-week trip.
Jenny lives in Harpur Crescent, Alsager, Meera comes from Cranberry Lane, they are Young Leaders with local Brownie packs and are pupils at Alsager School.
They are due to fly out to Nairobi in July, where they will spend three and a half weeks working with street children and building the medical centre.
They will also spend five days climbing the snow-peaked Mount Kenya, the aim being to see the sunset at 2am from the summit.
The adventure represents the expedition section of the girls' bronze Duke of Edinburgh challenge, and they will be working alongside 60 other young people from all over the UK.
The visit is being organised by the Kenyan Scouting Association, and the girls have each raised £1,000 towards the cost of the trip through a series of sponsored events.
Anyone who would like to sponsor the girls please ring 01270-878870.
