YOUNG people from 22 different countries have gathered at the peace centre for the first time to train for courses which will battle racism.
52 people aged between 16 and 25 who take part in the Children's International Summer Village courses gathered at the centre over the Easter weekend.
They will be running programmes in their countries aimed at overcoming prejudice and teaching conflict resolution.
Colin Parry gave the group a talk about his own experiences before they made plans for courses of the future.
Dan Jary, who helped organise the weekend, said: "The CISV promotes intercultural understanding. In the summer young people take part in multi-national camps. It was a very successful weekend. Everybody enjoyed it and it was very productive."
