THE Rural Advice Service for Crewe and Nantwich is back on the road.
After the Foot and Mouth outbreak, MAFF advised the Citizens' Advice Bureau to suspend the service but following a relaxation of the restrictions, it is now fully operational again.
While the suspension was in place, the CAB provided a rural advice helpline to accompany a national line on 0800 138 1647, available from Monday to Friday between 1pm and 8pm.
"Although we tried to provide an alternative service, many of the people who use the Rural Service are elderly and do not like to use or have access to the telephone," said Wendy Tozer, district manager of Crewe and Nantwich CAB.
The service is extremely well used and deals with an average of 180 enquires per month.
