SCORES of charity supporters will be calling at Alsager homes this month as part of a bid to help some of the world's poorest people.
Some 150 volunteers from Alsager churches are taking part in a Christian Aid house-to-house collection from May 13 to 19.
The initiative coincides with Christian Aid Week, and aims to raise thousands of pounds to help alleviate poverty.
Bargains galore will be up for grabs at an ecumenical coffee morning at Alsager Civic Centre on May 12, between 10am and midday.
In addition a display at Alsager Library from May 14 to 19 will show how campaigning for debt relief and fair trade has helped people in Uganda and Brazil.
"Christian Aid Week is more than a fund-raising exercise," said Margaret Snowdon, chairman of Alsager Christian Aid committee.
"It's a celebration of our commitment to justice and to ending world poverty - together we can make a difference."
