THREE young people from Congleton have struck gold in the Duke of Edinburgh Awards scheme.
Charlotte Reeves, Gavin Capper and Christopher Gartside were among 59 young achievers to receive the scheme's gold honour.
Those winners received their certificates from David Newton, chairman of Cheshire County Council.
The young people also signed a commemorative book as a permanent record of their achievement.
"This is a proud day for the dedicated young people who have proved their worth in demonstrating a commendable abillity to rise to a challenge," said Cllr Newton.
