SHOPMOBILITY Warrington has taken delivery of a new shoprider scooter.
Purchased with a donation from Abbey National Charitable Trust, the scooter will be used to help disabled shoppers' trips to the town centre that much easier.
John Barnes, manager of Abbey National's Warrington branch, said: "We are totally committed to supporting all sections of the community and particularly those with disabilities.
"We get a lot of people using these scooters coming into the branch and we try to make it as easy as possible for them. We're delighted to support our local shopmobility scheme."
Shopmobility provides a valuable service to the elderly and people with disabilities. Currently in its sixth year of operation in Warrington, the charity is starting to upgrade its older equipment.
Teresa Shepherd, scheme co-ordinator, said: "We need to replace the original scooters which are showing signs of wear and tear and we're thrilled that the Abbey National is supporting us in this project."
Anyone interested in becoming a member of shopmobility can call Teresa on 231941.
