PLAY Tennis 2001, Britain's biggest ever free tennis campaign gets underway in Hale at Hale Village Tennis Club on Saturday 5th May 2001.
Everyone is welcome to come along from 10.30am and join the fun!
"Play Tennis offers great opportunities for people in Hale to pick up a racket and have a go," said John Brinnand Play Tennis organiser for Hale Village Tennis Club
"I hope that the event will inspire lots of new players, especially kids to take advantage of a free introduction to the sport.
"The event is designed to benefit from the interest in the sport generated by the likes of Tim Henman and Greg Rusedski at both national and local level.
"The aim of the event is to provide an easy free opportunity for anyone to play tennis at any level with the potential to play competitively or just for fun.
Last year over 73,000 people took part in Play Tennis events across the UK and of those, 60,000 were juniors and 15,000 were complete newcomers to the sport. It is ia really fun day so come along and have a go!
