SALE United FC are opening their doors to local girls between the ages of 7 and 11 who want to try out football.
Starting on Wednesday 16th May the club will be running training sessions specific to girls at their Crossford Bridge site from 6.30pm to 7.30pm every week.
In order to encourage young girls to take up this sport the sessions are being provided free of charge and will be given by fully qualified FA coaches, one of whom already plays ladies football in a competitive league.
Club chairman, Stewart Hamer said, "There are only a few girls playing at this age in the local clubs and currently Sale United who probably have the highest number of playing members don't have any girls at present.
"There are opportunities in the area for 'all girls' teams to complete against each other and ultimately this is what we would like to see happen at this club.
"However, these sessions are being provided free of charge over a period of several weeks with no obligation to join our club.
"It is a great opportunity for any young girl to try out the sport, with nothing to lose and possibly everything to gain."
It is important that girls don't just turn up on the Wednesday evenings, so anyone interested should book a free place by contacting Stewart on 0161 969 4189.
