THE fact that Huddersfield Giants have not won a game so far this season makes them all the more dangerous for us on Sunday.
They are going to be hungry for their first win.
Listening to the comments their coach Tony Smith makes each week, it seems to be that Huddersfield keep making the same mistakes. But gradually they are going to cut them out and it is going to turn around for them.
I remember last year when Huddersfield at home was my first game in a loan spell for Warrington. Huddersfield were in a pretty similar situation and we were running away with the game at half-time.
Then they cut out their mistakes and it showed how quickly games can be turned around as we ended up losing. Darryl Van de Velde and Paul Darbyshire have been telling us we must be switched on for the full 80 minutes and we must make sure we are on Sunday.
Also in that Huddersfield game last year I scored four tries in the opening half an hour. In the build-up during the week Darryl had said to me that he wanted me to score a hat-trick and I laughed about it at the time but four was certainly a good start for me in the primrose and blue. I would rather of had the winning points though than four tries and I will simply be happy for the two points on Sunday.
I hope the fans continue to follow us in the way they have been doing. They are superb and specially in the last home game against St. Helens. The fans were really positive that night. If the fans are positive and the players are positive, then we will not go far wrong.
As most of you will now be aware, Tawera Nikau returned to the camp this week. It was good to go into training on Tuesday morning and see a positive figure back in the squad.
We have all been positive over the last few weeks but when you see 'T' round the club, training hard and getting stuck in, you can't help but be positive to be around the man. I know he has been through a lot recently but he's a strong man and he'll come out on top. He does inspire people and a team needs players like Tawera. I'm glad he's in my team.
I watched the Challenge Cup final on Saturday and found it boring. The conditions would not have helped to make it a spectacular game but I thought there would have been more open rugby. But it simply seemed to be a dull game.
I thought Bradford would have won so it shows I am not a good tipster. I had felt going into the game that neither Bradford or Saints had been playing to their full potential over the past few weeks and thought Bradford might have edged it but I was obviously wrong.
My two former clubs, London Broncos and Wigan Warriors, came head to head at the weekend too.
London, who recruited well in the off-season, started off the campaign a little jittery but now they've put a bit of a run together and had a brilliant win against Wigan on Sunday. To be honest, I think that had been on the cards for the last few years because Wigan never seem to play well in London.
