A NEW fully accessible minibus has been bought by transport chiefs to expand the services of Partington and Cadishead Transport Co-operative.
The co-operative provides local community transport services in the Partington and Cadishead areas and shared taxi services to key points on the local public transport network. It was established with resources won by Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Authority in the Government's 1999 Rural Bus Challenge competition.
Councillor Roger Jones, Chairman of the Authority, said, "The Authority is delighted to see further funds being released to provide PACT with a third vehicle and is pleased to note the considerable progress being made by the co-operative towards the development of transport in the community."
Cllr Roland Griffin, Trafford spokesperson for the Authority, added, "It is great to see that the service is already expanding and I am pleased that the authority can support PACT with another vehicle. This scheme is the first such co-ordinated community transport project of its kind in Greater Manchester."
