COMMUNITY group leaders are hoping to provide school children with special china mugs to mark the Queen's 50 years on the throne.
The initiative is the idea of Buglawton Community Group, which is working on the Golden Jubilee project with two local primary schools.
The group is also planning to provide all residents living in sheltered accommodation in the area with a hanging basket.
"Last year was our first attempt at improving the image of Buglawton, and we had favourable comments about our involvement in the community," said group chairman Ernest Clarke.
"We made Charlesworth Place our flagship area, providing hanging baskets and tubs, and also provided tubs and baskets in all areas of the community."
The group was aiming at being more ambitious this year, he added, and was fortunate in having the help of Frank Holt and his team from Congleton in Bloom.
The group is seeking grant support for both projects from Congleton Town Council.
