PLANS to build a new Spar shop in Chester Road have been approved following negotiations with the developer.
The plans were deferred at last month's meeting of the borough's development control committee after residents in Elgin Avenue raised concerns about the height of the proposed building and the materials to be used for the roof.
However, development control manager John Groves told the committee last Wednesday that the developer has agreed to reduce the height and use materials for the roof that have a tiled design imprinted in them.
The Spar convenience store is to be located close to the junction of Gainsborough Road.
