A FRENCH linguist at Warrington Collegiate Institute has scooped a top award after achieving full marks in her French A-Level exam.
Gladys Abouchaar was named as the top candidate in all languages A-Levels last summer and the Assessment and Qualifications Alliance examination board, AQA, honoured the star student at a special ceremony.
The mum-of-three achieved 600 out of 600 in her French exam, which AQA said was "unprecedented", as well as gaining a grade A in Spanish and both courses were completed on a part-time basis.
Gladys' first language is Arabic but she is also fluent in English and a qualified psychiatrist.
Languages course leader Chris Jones said: "Gladys really is a model student. She is a natural linguist and a pleasure to teach.
"We all thoroughly enjoyed the awards ceremony as well as a special visit to the House of Commons for tea with MP for Warrington North, Helen Jones."
Gladys is still studying Spanish and Egyptology at the Collegiate part-time.
