WARRINGTON'S Christmas crackdown on drink drivers is under way and police are urging the public to play their part.
Operation Wild Liquor will run until January 2 and will continue the work of the Warrington Road Safety Partnership - specifically targeting those people who drink and drive.
Sgt Mike Jones, from the road policing unit, said: "We will be using a number of methods to identify and apprehend drink drivers before and during the Christmas period.
"The public can play its part as well by notifying us of persistent offenders - there is a free phone number 0800 358 1131 where all calls are treated confidentially.
"If you are a drink driver then you may have plenty of time to reflect on 'if only'."
