DETECTIVES are hunting an elderly man who indecently assaulted a teenager travelling on a bus towards Warrington.
A 17-year-old girl caught the number 19 bus at Leigh bus station at 3pm on Friday, December 6, and sat at the back.
An elderly man also got on at the bus station and sat near her. He performed an indecent act before indecently assaulting her.
The girl got off the bus on Warrington Road while her attacker stayed on, heading towards Warrington.
He is described as white, aged 75-80, with short, grey hair and of stocky build. He was clean-shaven and wearing a flat cap.
Det Con Cath Greer, of Leigh CID, said: "From some of the things the man said to the girl, we believe he uses this bus service on a regular basis and we would like to appeal to any bus drivers who work on this route, or regular passengers, to see if they recognise his description."
Anyone who can help to identify this man is asked to contact Leigh CID on 0161 856 7254, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
