Williams Fairey Band, the recently crowned 2002 National Champion Brass Band of Great Britain, are to perform a concert of Christmas music at the Gracie Fields Theatre Rochdale this Sunday at 7.30pm.

The concert entitled The Williams Fairey Band say a Merry Christmas with Music will feature many fine soloists of the band, while the band will perform a wide range of music especially selected to suit all tastes. In addition, the audience will have the opportunity to sing a selection of popular carols which the band will accompany.

The Williams Fairey Band is one of the most famous brass bands in the world, having won every major brass band title. They hail from the hotbed of British brass band life - Stockport - and appear at Rochdale following performances at Symphony Hall, Birmingham and the Royal Albert Hall, London.

The Williams Fairey Band were formed in 1937 and for more than 50 years Harry Mortimer was their Musical Advisor. The band have been many times National, British Open and European Champions.
