IT was the day before Christmas and Holly and Jack were getting very excited, they were going to visit Santa's Grotto with their Mum and Dad.

It was snowing outside and everywhere was white. Wherever you looked children were laughing and playing in the snow, daydreaming about what Santa might bring for them. Holly and Jack were all wrapped to go when Holly decided that she wanted to take her favourite teddy called Harry to see Santa. Mum didn't think that this was a good idea but Holly wouldn't leave him at home.

At Santa's grotto Holly was next to see Santa and she was very excited jumping up and down, laughing and squealing. She could just see Santa sitting on his chair with his elves and fairies around him. Rudolph the red nosed reindeer was playing on the radio and all the children and mums and dads were singing along, this made Jack laugh.

When it was Holly's turn to see Santa she ran to sit on his knee with Harry under her arm and told Santa all the things that she would like for Christmas. Then she gave him a big kiss and ran back to mum, dad and Jack, Holly was chattering so much about what Santa had said that she didn't realise that she had dropped Harry until she got home and asked mum where he was but no one knew!

Back at the grotto a fairy found a very sad looking teddy bear lying on the floor, she gave him to Santa who said that he would try and find out who he belonged to and take him home for Christmas.

That night as Holly and Jack were getting ready for bed Holly left a note for Santa asking him if he could please find Harry because she loves him and misses him lots. They left the note under the Christmas tree and went to bed, dreaming about what Santa might leave under the tree.

Next morning Jack and Holly got up early and ran downstairs to find lots of presents all wrapped in shiny paper under the tree but there was no sign of Harry. Holly was sad and didn't really feel like opening her presents, mum said it would make her feel better and she was right!

Soon all the presents were opened and Jack and Holly were happy and laughing. The Holly noticed a small package right under the tree with a note saying "Dear Holly, hope you didn't miss him too much, Love Santa xxx"

Holly opened the package to find Harry lying inside with a red Santa hat on and a happy look on his face. She screamed with delight and gave him a big hug and shouted "Thank you Santa, Merry Christmas."
