"THAT'S so not fair, I wanted to be the angel" shouted Jessica feeling very angry at Mrs Harriet.

"But this year Rosie Daniels is going to be our special angel" yelled Mrs Harriet.

Rosie had always been a carol and every year she wished to be something different. Rosie was given a letter addressed to her parents, she was longing to open it. "I should the angel, I'm always an angel at home so why can't I be one now" Jessica whispered to the girl next to her.

When it was time to go home Rosie quickly pulled her jacket to her shoulders, carried her heavy bag in her small hands and lined up. She skipped over to her mother and gave her the letter. Her mother read it and smiled at her. Her brother Charlie was also pleased and decided to help by being an angel which was difficult. The play was only 2 days and Mrs Harriet was under pressure, Rosie began to think hard about the play and rehearsals were held every morning and every afternoon.

Finally everyone gathered to see the show, first it was Mary and Joseph in their sparkly robes then the stars shining bright. The it was Rosie's turn to go on. Rosie was so nervous and frightened, she stood in the spotlight and shivered in the sight that everyone was laughing at her. Her eyes began to fill up and tears began running down her cheeks. She ran back to the changing room, locked the door and sobbed. Some enchanted fairy dust drifted into the air and made Rosie cough, she looked up to see someone dressed in red and white "Santa" Rosie muttered "I have come to tell you something important" Santa said softly. "Everyone is nervous at times but we have to build our confidence up" Santa told Rosie, Rosie smiled and whispered "thank you" Santa jumped outside and cried "HO HO HO Merry Christmas" Rosie went out. Everyone clapped and cheered. All the characters came to the front and bowed, flowers were being thrown to the characters and everyone knew that the audience had enjoyed themselves.
