PETE Glover's 39 break was the highlight of Winnington C's latest victory as they continued their ominous form at the top of the Hyundai Mid Cheshire Snooker League.

They beat Victoria A 5-2 for their eighth win in nine games to return to the summit as previous leaders Pockets C went down 6-1 to Cygnet C.

This dropped them to third, allowing champions United Services A to go second, Keith Rowley's 48 break helping them to a 6-1 win at Owley Wood C that puts them a point behind Winnington.

Lostock A won 6-1 at Hartford A to maintain the Division One leadership after a hiccup the previous week, but big wins kept the two sides below them well in contention.

John Wrigglesworth hit a 30 break as Victoria D beat Owley Wood B 5-2 and Knutsford Liberals B hammered Pochins B 7-0.

John Winch was another big break-maker, with 27 for Cygnet D as they lost 4-3 to Pockets A.

Anthony Hough posted a fine 61 break to leave Middlewich Legion A six points clear at the top of Division Two.

They beat Winnington B 6-1, a score mirrored by Rudheath A at Wharton B, as they went into second place.

Nick Hamman was the top player of the week in Division Three as he smashed in breaks of 42 and 30 for leaders Castle Private A.

They beat Victoria C 6-1, while Wharton C's 7-0 win over Winnington D put them second above Owley Wood D, who went down 5-2 to Meadow A.

Pockets B took third spot after their 6-1 win against Centura A.
