Widnes RUFC Vets 31
HOOKER Martin Griffiths had a field day.
Scrumhalf Graham Riley revelled in the amount of possession supplied and dummied over for two tries as part of his 21-point haul.
Gary Henry had a number of runs but was foiled by the narrow pitch.
Neil Street focussed on keeping play alive in the middle while Brian Gill went in by the posts.
The one person capable of successfully breaking down the wing proved to be Griffiths who capitalised on confusion at a lineout before dashing away then used sleight of hand to send in John Loughnane, as surprised as anyone to find himself over the whitewash.
