A GERMAN schoolboy has been showing his English counterparts a thing or two about the beautiful game.
John Meister, a seven-year-old at Terra Nova School, has claimed a top honour from the Crewe Alexandra Football Academy on consecutive weeks.
The talented youngster, who plays for his school under eight and under nine team, moved from Germany to Cheshire two years ago.
He has learned his English at school, along with many of his football skills, but still supports German side Bayern Munich.
The talented midfield player attends the Crewe Alexandra Football Academy on Saturday mornings and won the awards for his impressive performances at the coaching sessions.
"John has proved to be an exceptionally talented pupil," said headteacher Nigel Johnston.
"He quickly overcame any language barrier when he joined Terra Nova and now speaks English - both on and off the pitch - with the best of them."
