The heat is on for a group of Winsford scouts who have just received a new portable barbecue for their camping trips.
Youngsters from the 1st Chad's Scout Group got the chance to tuck into burgers and sausages for the first time on a camping trip in Sandiway's Birchwood Forest last week.
And with temperatures hitting scorching levels last week, the arrival of the barbecue could not have come at a better time.
It was thanks to the fundraising efforts of three of the group, with a little extra help from ScottishPower, that they were able to afford the barbecue.
Angie Ollier, secretary of the scout group and cub leaders Neil Telfer and Mark Woodall undertook a sponsored challenge to complete the 35-mile Gritstone trail walk in May
Angie - who works for the electricity company - and the cub leaders managed to raise £300 through sponsorship.
It took the group two days to complete the challenging route from Kidsgrove to Disley, but it was made worthwhile when the electricity company matched their fundraising efforts with another £300.
Angie said: "We hold a sponsored walk every year to raise funds but we decided to do this one in two days because the trail was very hilly.
"We were raising the money to buy a portable barbecue for when the scouts go camping but now we have managed to get so much that we are hoping to buy a portable fridge freezer as well.
"It has been beautiful weather and with the heat the scouts have had a lot of use out of their new barbecue this week"
