YOUNG Paul Grannell from Winsford is celebrating after making a dream debut for the U18s England boys' golf team.
The 17-year-old, who represents Sandiway Golf Club and is also a member of Vale Royal Abbey Golf Club, made his debut in a three-day home international at St David's in Harlech against Ireland.
He played in six games and secured a total of 3.5 points for the team.
On the last day, the contest came down to the last two matches - and Paul was one of the two England players to win at the 17th hole and take the England side to a two point win overall.
Paul, who has a +1 handicap, said: "I'm made up. It was really good fun and the atmosphere was great. When everyone was watching it was a bit nerve racking, but I think I played well."
He is coached by Alan Thompson and represented England at under-16 level in two friendly games.
