ARTHUR Kenney scored a notable double header in the final round of the Wednesday Mornings Veteran Series.

The first match of the day had the veterans contesting the final round of their series for the H&E Cross Trophy on the lower numbered pegs of the river Weaver at Anderton.

Arthur fished squat at four metres off peg 20 to claim first place with 4-14-0 of small skimmers and roach.

He was also the overall winner of the series with a maximum 60 points out of 60. Runner up was John Dudley with 51 and Ken Millington was third with 50 points.

Friday's all night match, the final in the series for the Terry Heath Rose Bowl at Heesom's Pool, saw Dave Cowley take the top weight on the night from peg 45, two large bream plus bits taken on pellet at five metres clinching him the series and trophy with 11-15-0.

Sunday's Junior/Senior pairs match at Heesom's Pool for the Green Cup, saw the squad of Danny Griffiths and Phil Hawkins take top combined weight with 5-1-8 to lift the cup between them with ease.

Their catch was made up of mostly skimmers and roach from pegs 9 & 8.
