A SUCCESSFUL weekend's work saw a blistering Oulton Park outplay Hyde in the ECB Premier League to notch up their third win on the trot.

Brilliant performances by batsmen Andy Kent (78) and Paul Berry (100) led Oulton Park to a comfortable home victory over Hyde.

The visitors won the toss and elected to bat in hot conditions, only to face tight bowling from McIlroy (2-54) and Whittaker (2-53) and when danger man David Fitzsimmons was taken for 45, Hyde were struggling at 113-5.

But Makin and Brierley led a fightback - scoring 30 and 35no respectively - which eventually brought Hyde's total to 231-7.

When Oulton Park stepped up to bat, opening pairing Kent and Leech took 40 and when Leech fell for 6 to a catch from Spencer, Berry took control.

With an elegant array of shots - including a six over the pavilion - he put on 114 with Kent and then 78 with Bentham to take Oulton Park to their third successive league victory.

Oulton Park's next fixture sees them play league leaders Bowdon at Little Budworth next week.
