DAVENHAM were overwhelmed by visitors Hale Barns on Saturday.
Hale Barns batted first and scored 216-8 - with Davenham's bowlers David Ashley and Andy Floyd taking 3-46 and 2-49 respectively.
Davenham's batsmen started badly, scoring just nine runs by the fall of the second wicket, and could not pick up the pace.
Despite respectable innings from Ashley (68), Alan Wright (31) and Ben Gough (22), they were all out for 174.
l DAVENHAM'S 2nd XI also failed to produce the goods as Bowden Vale took a three-wicket home win.
The visitors batted first and Ben Jones and Andrew Cwiklinsky scored impressively, making 60 and 37 respectively.
However, the team was all out for 161 to leave Bowden Vale in a strong position.
Jones and Stevie Warburton were in-form, taking 3-31 and 2-54 respectively, but could not prevent Bowdon Vale from getting the runs they needed.
The home team finished on 162-7.
