CHRIS Dick's last minute volley wrapped up Alsager Town's pre-season campaign with a 1-0 win over Norton on Tuesday night.
After two wins and two draws, Alsager were determined to go into NWC Division One action unbeaten and made a fine start, playing some decent football.
Only a top save from Norton keeper Coventry denied Wayne Brotherton's effort on 20 minutes before proceedings deteriorated into petty fouls and off-sides.
Alsager upped the tempo after the break but were still finding the visitors' defence stubborn to break down.
Sub Simon Wilshaw went close with his strike cleared off the line on 85 minutes but Dick's sweet connection on a last gasp corner secured victory.
It's all for real tomorrow when Alsager begin their Division One adventure at home to Ramsbottom United, before entertaining rivals Congleton Town on Wednesday night.
